In the last couple of weeks i have been recording my own script and also helping others that were in my group to record theres. I am slightly behind as we have had issues with technology meaning that work has been lost and we have had to record again. I am currently at the stage of editing and i will need to add sound effects. The software that i have been using is Audacity to edit the recording. By doing this my target audience will be able to listen to a proffessional sounding radio drama.

Script & Pitch

In todays lessons i have been finishing my script for my radio drama. I have had to do this to create an understanding into how to create a successful script. I have also been creating a pitch for my radio drama. I have included codes and conventions, target audience, the background to my drama, the characters included, good and bad feaures and also radio regulations. I must do this to sell my product to my client.

Radio Drama

Recently I have been learning about signposting, Narrative devices, the codes and convention in radio dramas and treatments. Whilst learning about the codes and conventions within radio dramas we had to listen to them. The most popular radio drama was the Archers, I had to consider the voice, genre, sound effects and setting. We have had to create our treatments for our own radio drama. When doing this we had to consider the setting, the characters and the poential sound effects. We had to think of three potential radio dramas and then we will be scripting our final chosen radio drama. The content of the radio drama will have to fit into the target audience that i choose. My radio drama will be aimed at people aged 9-17. When i am writing my radio dama I must ensure that the content is suitable for the younger targeted age as well as the older targeted age. I will also have to ensure that I broadcast my radio drama when my target audience will be more likely to listen.

Amendmets

It is now coming to the end of the year and we have almost finished the unit. In the last couple of lessons i have been making amendments to my coursework. I have been making finishing touches to many peices that need bits adding to them. I have also checked over my music strings to make sure they are at a professional standard for my coursework.

Analysis for final prducts

During the course of the day i have been analysing my final music strings and audo. I have created a questionnaire that i had some one from the group complete to give m efeedback. I then analysed the feedback and i compared the feedback from my current feedback and my feedback from my previous questionnaire. I then stated to complete the overall evaluation, this includes my strengths and weaknesses.

Amendments

During the last lesson I have been making sure that my music strings and recoprdings are finalised and all of my amendments are complete. I have used Audacity to do this task. I have listened to the recordings and i have deleted parts of it to make the clarity of the voice stronger. I had to change the volume of the voice on some of the recordings as it was not loud enough to be heard clearly over the music string. I have also had to change the length of some of the voice recordings as they were too long especially the live reed. All of the recordings must be a maximum of 30 seconds, but my live reed is just over a minute. When they got listened to last week it was pointed out that teh clarity of the voice was not 100% so this is the main thing that i will be amending.

Lesson overview

In this lesson I used a ticklist to check what tasks I have done and what i still have left to do and need to get done. As a group we also listened to some of teh music strings and audio within teh class. I found that my peice was good, but I needed to tweek the voice only s;ightly as there were some gaps in the audio. I will be tweeking them in teh next two lessons.

Analysing

In the last few lessons we have been analysing our music strings. We had to consider the tone, volume, rhythm, target audience ect. I must now start on my pitch. In the pitch i must talk about the codes and conventions, the rules and regulations, copyright implications.

Music strings and vocal recordings

In the last few lessons I have been making my script for my radio. The script had to include the time that the script is for and the name of the show, for example the breakfast show, it also had to include whether the diolouge was to be internal or external. I have also been recording my scripts. With the recorded vocals I then added them to my music strings. By doing this I was able to get a higher knowledge of how to use the software. I am now able to use the software to a higher understanding.
